Third International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering-Iraq

Third International Conference on Geotechnical Engineering-Iraq, 2022 (ICGE-2022) is going to be held on 17-19th May 2022 in the University of Baghdad/Baghdad/Iraq. The conference is organized by the Iraqi Scientific Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (ISSSMFE) in collaboration with the College of Engineering/University of Baghdad and College of Engineering/University of Kerbala under the auspices of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine. The conference aims to provide a scientific platform to present and discuss the latest researches and studies in geotechnical engineering and all related-topics in different fields such as; civil engineering, environmental engineering, and architectural engineering. This scientific event is a great chance for participants from both academics and industry to discuss and exchange recent developments in these fields. The conference will be a real opportunity to share new ideas and experiences face to face, establish business or research relations, and find global partners for future collaboration.

    About Iraq Natural History Research Center and Museum

    The Iraq Natural History Research Center and Museum, University of Baghdad(http://nhm.uobaghdad.edu.iq/) was established in May 1946 under the name: Iraq Natural History Museum, University of Baghdad. Currently, it includes four departments: Entomology & Invertebrates, Ichthyology, Vertebrates and Botany & Ecology. It aims to preserve and storage collections of animal, plant specimens and geological samples; some of them are artistic and attractive for visitors in museum exhibits. It is also concerned with conducting research and studies in Natural History; as well it contributes to the identification of samples for students and other researchers. INHM has a specialized library that provides journals, books, and a database about natural history, as well, it has a scientific biannual issued Bulletin of the Iraq Natural History Museum.

    Iraq Natural History Research Center and Museum has a great role in serving the community through the conducting of scientific seminars, workshops and specialized training courses, etc. for universities and various institutions.

    Goal of the conference

    Due to the great expansion in the environmental sciences and the several stresses that facing the biodiversity and wildlife, it has become necessary to conduct the studies that focus on this field. Such studies giving a description of the reality and the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest developments which related to biodiversity and wildlife safety. This goal can be achieved through the exchange of experiences between researchers. Contributions of the researchers in the natural history and wildlife which highlight the important role of the Iraq Natural History Research Center and Museum in conservation and protection of wildlife that may prompt the economy of our country in the future.

     

     

College of Engineering Conference

PAPER SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 31-8-2021

The College of Engineering - University of Baghdad was established in 1921, and as part of its scientific engineering activities, the college used to organize scientific engineering conferences as part of these activities. This year, on the anniversary of its centenary jubilee, and under the slogan (College of Engineering - University of Baghdad in its centenary jubilee: an address for excellence and creativity in engineering education), the college will organize its eighth engineering and second international conference for the period (24-25/11/2021).

The conference aims to provide and document valuable engineering information and the updated research developments in the field of applied engineering sciences and exchange experiences in various fields of engineering and technology, in a way that serves the progress of the scientific research and the development of engineering and technological sciences as they represent the main pillar in the advancement and permanence of development. The conference will also provide the appropriate environment for researchers and engineers in various sectors to communicate with each other, to deliver their theoretical and applied research and studies, to provide solutions to various engineering issues, as well as to support the scientific research in the academic and applied sectors and to give the university a distinguished role in promoting global scientific progress and the development of human life.

    About the Society

    Iraqi Scientific Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering (ISSSMFE) was established by Iraqi pioneer academics and engineers of experienced in the fields of geotechnical engineering in 2001. The society is an active member of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) and participated in the international conferences and summit meetings organized by ISSMGE. The ISSSMFE provides a forum for academics and engineers working in the geotechnical field to understand the soil behavior and solve the problems related to the stability and sustainability of structures founded on/within all types of soils. To achieve the main aims of the society, many symposiums and workshops were organized relating to the geotechnical engineering. One of these important activities is organizing the second international conference on geotechnical engineering-Iraq that will be held in Akre (Aqrah)/Duhok/Iraq on 5-6 April 2021.
